Richard is a RIBA Chartered Architect with over 25 years of experience in architectural practice. He has extensive experience in all phases of architectural design and the technical design of luxury interiors.
Prior to joining ReardonSmith Richard was lead architect for a number of London hotels including the Park Plaza County Hall, Park Plaza Westminster Bridge and a London City Airport hotel. Richard joined ReardonSmith in May 2011 and lead the design of two Marriott Autograph collection hotels, the Pik Palace and the Park Chalet located in the centre of the Shahdag ski resort in the mountains of Azerbaijan. He led the extensive refurbishment of the Grade II listed Lanesborough, working closely with the interior designer Alberto Pinto to realise their vision through the technical design of the interiors to reinstate the Lanesborough as one of London’s preeminent luxury hotels.
Richard was both the Lead Architect and Contract Administrator through the construction and subsequent phases for Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort, an eight-hundred-acre estate in County Limerick, Ireland. The development included the extension and renovation of Adare Manor as well as several other refurbished and new buildings. Adare Manor Hotel was named best hotel in the world at the 2018 Virtuoso Best of the Best Awards and is destined to host the Ryder Cup in 2026.
More recently, in addition to overseeing site works for the Abbey Road Care home, Richard completed the Concept design of the Dawley House Hotel, a new build 165 bed hotel in West London.
