Jonny Sin
Company Director
Jonny is a Board Director of ReardonSmith Architects. He joined the practice in 2011 and his leadership qualities, collaborative instinct and committed work ethic have ensured that he has been at the helm of many of their landmark projects ever since. He is highly skilled in taking both new-build and refurbishment projects all the way from early inception to completion and his experience in the hospitality sector ranges from Grade II Listed heritage projects to high-rise tower developments. He has furthermore provided hotel design consultancy services for design studios such as Zaha Hadid Architects.
One of his projects, The Beaumont in Mayfair, London was awarded “Best Hotel in the World” upon its opening in 2014. During this project, Jonny worked with noted British artist Sir Antony Gormley, using unique construction methods to realise the artist’s vision of a monumental sculpture as a living space and extension to the hotel, thus bringing together art and architecture in a unique way. In another first, Jonny led the collaboration with hospitality students and industry specialists to create ‘Heya’, an award-winning concept guestroom for Generation Z which he presented to an international audience at Europe’s hotel design and innovation event, Sleep & Eat. Most recently, he was a judge for the WIN Awards 2022 and the AHEAD Awards 2022 & 2023.
Since mid-2019, Jonny has led the architectural and design team on one of London’s most prestigious hotel schemes - the renovation of The Dorchester, the largest such project at the hotel for some 30 years. Key to the success of the new design is a thoughtful, sensitive and informed approach so that the result appeals to both The Dorchester’s loyal clientele and to future guests with the addition of several new spaces, without in anyway compromising the soul of the hotel.
