The Artists Bar at The Dorchester Hotel has been shortlisted by the 2023 AHEAD Awards Europe in the Bar, Club or Lounge category.

ReardonSmith were approached by The Dorchester Collection in 2019 to act as Lead Designer and Architect for the project. As a full renovation of the property had not been undertaken since 1989, this represented a major opportunity for a significant reimagining, as well as upgrading, of the hotel. It was key that the new design appealed to The Dorchester’s loyal clientele as well as to future guests and therefore that it was an enhancement, with the addition of several new spaces, without compromising the spirit of the hotel. Taking a holistic approach and working closely with the client to understand their aspirations has allowed us to maintain this spirit, yet create spaces that surprise and delight guests.

Works within the project included new landscaped and hardscaping areas to the forecourt, the reconfiguration of a now light-filled entrance Lobby and the renovation of the famous Promenade with a sparkling new ‘Artists Bar’, designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon (PYR) with interior fit out by BECK Interiors.

The winner will be announced at the AHEAD Europe ceremony on Friday 17th November.
