With our masterplan well underway to create a new marina destination in Montenegro’s beautiful Bay of Kotor, we were commissioned to design several collections of apartments grouped along the coastline.

They ranged in size from studios to exclusive four-bedroom residences, many with a large terrace looking out towards the Adriatic, others with a first-floor landscaped courtyard and some with the luxury of their own private pools. These outdoor spaces formed private oases for residents to bask in the sunshine and enjoy the views towards the marina and sea, yet where they would remain connected to their immediate locale thanks to the sounds caught in the narrow streets below. The connection with outdoors continues inside with the apartments carefully oriented to ensure privacy, exclusivity and memorable views. Massing of the buildings was also an important consideration; the buildings are low-rise, sitting between sea and mountains in the manner of the old towns of the area rather than a new intervention. Released in phases, many of the apartments were quickly sold off-plan.
