20.06.16 ReardonSmith Architects Reveals Stunning New Suite at The Savoy
ReardonSmith Architects has returned to The Savoy to help create a further chapter in the evolution of this legendary London landmark, an entirely new Savoy Suite. Two one-bedroom suites and a standard guestroom on the 6th floor have been combined to form an exquisite space impeccably realised in an Art Deco vernacular by Pierre-Yves Rochon to frame majestic vistas of the Thames and London's rooftops from above the treeline.
Drawing upon expertise gained as architects for the Grade II building’s total restoration completed in 2010, ReardonSmith acted as Lead Architect on the creation of this opulent new suite. The team was responsible for obtaining all necessary building consents for the listed interiors, the architectural design of the suites, and onsite coordination with the client as well as Pierre-Yves Rochon and the fit-out contractor. The re-design was carried out in close consultation with The Savoy’s management to ensure guests’ comments and wishes were fully embraced.
